The ONLY reason you will pray for years without an answer, or the ONLY reason you are not enjoying the opportunities that are around you daily is because of how you choose to allow your brain to distract you. How you think is an important factor in the larger scheme of your success and well-being.
Here are common statements that immediately tell you a person has engaged the self-sabotage gear and are thus unreachable by the opportunity before their eyes.
If it’s too good, think twice!
The problem with this statement is not that it is an overused way to caution self to observe the details, but that it has already made a conclusion BEFORE evaluating the details. It is an obvious symptom of a lazy thinker – they do not wish to put any energy into evaluating the information they receive, and so they hide behind a closed mind.A closed mind is the fastest way to a closed destiny. Many who parrot this self-sabotage line are unfortunately the same people who will join a pyramid scheme that promises them 400% return on investment in a week for doing nothing. Why the contradiction?
Are pyramid schemes not the most obvious form of ‘if it’s too good think twice?’ They fall for the hype because they will most often meet a pyramid scheme reseller who will speak their language. And what is their language? They find someone who will tell them what they want to hear and that is ‘forget all those people who tell you that after hard work you will make money, you can in fact make money much faster without spending time to do all that work.’ Remember they are lazy thinkers?
And just like that, they are scammed, they call their relatives, and they too are scammed, and the chain reaction begins. Interestingly, when these schemes collapse, because they do, and with their money, they say the government let them down. If you know someone like that, tell them to take their mind with them wherever they go. It helps!
If a platform is offering you a *WORK* platform, there is nothing ‘too good’ about it. It is a work opportunity. Don’t kid yourself! No one is doing you a favour! Take it and make it work. And note, work platforms do not collapse.
Only the people who joined first benefit
This one is most often utilized around programs that have a progressive growth element. Nevertheless, they are used to convince self that you will never get where the others are, it is an extremely nearsighted argument and therefore it is self-sabotage at its best. Here is the thing, wherever you are in life, there is someone or people, sometimes many people, who are long past your level, and who are already enjoying the perks you hope to get some time in the future.
I carried with me a very strong self-sabotage vibe for years. So I understand it! Whenever I met anyone who had done something I hoped to do in the future, I would use their success to remind myself that I was never going to make it. How does anyone else’s level determine whether or not you will make it? It is a way to stunt your own growth from within.
If you start in campus and you are in first year, there are others who will be graduating that same year. If you buy a home today, there is someone else renovating his home of 20 years. If you have your first baby today, there is a mother somewhere enjoying her first child’s graduation. You will never have a time in life where everyone is at the same level.
When you get on board with a new account on the GOOD LIVING SYSTEM, do not look at the people getting cars and 12,000 USD checks and say, they are favoured because they came early. Look at it as proof that the payments can indeed be made. They too were exactly where you are TODAY and as you are seeing them, they are enjoying the benefits of their hard work. They too were at some point watching someone get their car and they did not even have one team member. You too can make it!
I don’t know what to do
Okay! We like your thinking and that is the reason we have a member’s training area. Get on the members section, get your lessons and watch yourself become an expert in doing something you did not know how to do a year prior. EVERYTHING in life is learned. At some point you did not know how to walk. You did not sit around reminding yourself you don’t know how to walk, you tried, and tried, tried and fell, and tried, and probably fell again, until one day you could walk. The same is true of speaking, reading, writing, getting onto a bus, combing your hair. You have the capacity to learn. Get out of self-sabotage and learn. You will be fine!
